for Bone Health

Chondroitin Sulfate

Lysine

Soy isoflavones

Chondroitin Sulfate:

Chondroitin is necessary to maintain the bone matrix, the honeycomb-like

living collagen fibers that make up 30 percent of all bone. The

matrix provides the flexibility and resilience a bone needs for

peak performance.

I recommend taking 200-400 mg of chondroitin sulfate

a day.

Lysine:

This essential amino acid helps to improve the use of calcium within

our bodies. It can be found in yogurt, fish, cheese, and red meat.

I recommend taking 200-400 mg of lysine per day.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, avoid taking

lysine.

Soy Isoflavones:

If you do not regularly consume soy foods such as tofu or soymilk,

be sure to take supplemental soy isoflavones. Soy isoflavones provide

many other benefits after menopause, including protection against

osteoporosis. If you have difficulty digesting soy, be sure to also

take a digestive enzyme, such as lipase or bromelain.

I recommend taking 50-100 mg of soy isoflavones

a day.
