Depression Release Breathing Exercise

This exercise helps elevate mood and enhance emotional

well-being through focused breathing.

  • Sit upright in a chair. Cross your arms in front

of your chest with your fingers touching the upper outer area

of your chest. Your wrist crosses over your heart charka, which

is the energy center for emotions and feelings in traditional

    Oriental healing models.

  • As you inhale, imagine a golden light filling

your heart center with a warm, loving feeling. As you exhale,

breathe out depression and low spirits.

  • As you inhale, imagine a golden light filling

your heart center with a warm, loving feeling. As you exhale,

breathe out depression and low spirits.

  • As you inhale again, draw this golden light

up through your next and into your head. See it illuminating your

head with a soft, peaceful glow. Feel any depression or negative

thoughts dissolving as the golden light fills every cell in your

    brain.

  • As you exhale, breathe the golden light out

through the top of your head and see it form a shimmering cloud

of energy around your entire body.

  • Repeat the exercise five times.
