I am a recovering caffeine addict. Back in the day, it was nothing for me to drink coffee all morning and Diet Coke all afternoon. In fact, I lived on coffee when I was working on my thesis. And, to this day, I still crave (and sometimes give in to) a Diet Coke.

And don’t get me started on the smell of a really great coffee shop. It just represents happiness, warmth, and comfort. But, several years ago, when I was working with Dr. Lark to overcome estrogen dominance, I learned that caffeine plays havoc with female hormones. In fact, research has shown that caffeine elevates estrogen levels in women…the exact opposite of what someone with estrogen dominance is looking for. 

So I made the command decision that keeping my estrogen levels in check was more important that my love of caffeinated products. However, the next decision was more complicated…how on earth was I going to break the caffeine habit???
