I’ve practiced yoga on and off for years and love how it instantly calms my mind and spirit. But it wasn’t until I talked with Dr. Lark several years ago that I discovered its ability to balance my female hormones, particularly my estrogen levels.

Yoga brings energy and balance to both the body and the mind. This is particularly helpful for women like me with estrogen dominance and its resultant conditions, such as PMS. Specifically, I’ve found that certain yoga poses help relieve my cramps, as well as the stress, mood swings, and anxiety that often accompany PMS.

My favorite pose is Child’s Pose. Even when I don’t have cramps and/or PMS, I still do this pose to help relieve stress, ease lower back pain, and stretch out my hips.

To do this pose:

  • Sit back on your heels.
  • Bring your forehead to the floor, stretching your spine as far over your head as possible.
  • Close your eyes.
  • Hold this position for as long as comfortable.
