| Mental
Clarity
Many of my women friends and patients
are living with brain fog and lack of motivation that’s keeping
the brilliance of their minds from shining as it should. It clouds
their focus, mental clarity, concentration, and motivation. But
it’s more than that—it’s a distracted feeling,
a shorter attention span, the “it’s on the top of my
tongue” frustration, and slower thought processing.
With all of our obligations these days—family,
work, home, community—we barely have time to catch our breath,
let alone think clearly and remember all of the little details.
As we age, time, stress, less sleep, and a not-so-perfect diet all
take their toll on our brains.
The good news is, in most cases the problem
is not something irrevocable. My brain-rejuvenating program will
give you the tools you need to regain that mental edge.

Boost Your Mental Nutrition
Your brain uses 20 percent of the total energy
in your body—energy that’s supposed to come from the
food you eat. Whether you have enough energy to achieve peak mental
performance depends on what you eat, and how well you digest it.
Avoid food that tax your pancreas, including
wheat, red meat, saturated fats, alcohol, caffeinated beverages,
sugar, and dairy products.
Strive to replace these foods with those
that naturally contain enzymes of their own, such as raw fruits
and vegetables, and sprouted seeds, whole grains, and legumes. When
you eat meat, choose fish or range-fed poultry. Eggs should also
be from range-fed poultry. In addition to providing a sound nutritional
foundation, these choices boost your natural pancreatic enzyme levels,
for healthier digestive function, and improved mental energy.
To boost the energetic value of your food,
relax a few minutes before each meal, enjoy the aroma, anticipate
the flavors and textures, and get your juices flowing. Chew thoroughly,
the break food into smaller fragments and increase its exposure
to digestive enzymes in your saliva. This will trigger the release
of digestive juices further down the intestinal tract.

Nutrients to Keep You
Alert and Focused
Eating better can help you regain your mental
edge. However, nutritional supplements can also play a key role.
There are several key nutrients I recommend for overall brain health,
mental performance, and memory.
- Lasoperin
is a proprietary blend of Chinese Skullcap and Acacia that was
developed by a team of scientists and has been the subject of
a very exciting study. In this trial, healthy adults over the
age of thirty-five were given Lasoperin over a thirty-day period.
The preliminary findings suggest an improvement in focus and attention.
And these preliminary results also suggest that speed of processing
was better when the subjects were challenged with a complex task.
What this may mean is a boost to your “think on your fee”
ability. I recommend 300 mg daily.
- DMAE.
Your body uses DMAE to create choline, possibly the most crucial
nutrient for proper brain function. Choline is an essential building
block for acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter responsible for
thinking and memory. While research on DMAE is in its infancy,
I feel very strongly that women need a high amount of it. I
recommend 500 mg daily.
- Acetyl L-Carnitine
(ALC) is similar to acetylcholine. It helps keep your
cell membranes stable which in turn enhances nerve impulse transmission.
Basically, ALC helps give your neurotransmitters the building
blocks to stay clear and sharp. I recommend 100 mg daily.
- Tyrosine
is a favorite nutrient of mine because it helps make you feel
good. It’s a forerunner to dopamine, the “cheerleader”
neurotransmitter in your brain that sends out energizing and motivating
messages. By enhancing dopamine levels, tyrosine helps promote
mental functioning under stressful situations, and it can help
ease the effects of stress which can impair your thinking. I
recommend 500 mg daily.
I couldn’t find one formula
on the market that included each of the nutrients, in the best amounts
and correct potencies. So, I spent several months developing Memory
Answer. But, it’s so much more than a “memory”
formula. It’s a unique combination of nutrients that nourish
your brain and support your ability to focus, concentrate, recall
details, think on your feet, and stay mentally motivated and sharp.
You can support your focus, clarity, and
mental edge simply by staying mentally motivated and energized with
a healthy diet and right combination of nourishing brain nutrients.
